Brain Weasels Lie!
The truth is that you are worthy and deserving, and people like you.
There are voices inside my head that often tell me I am worthless. Nobody cares about me. I am useless. Nothing I do is ever right, and I am a disappointment and a failure.
Do you have voices like that inside your head? Whatever you call them — brain weasels, squirrels in the brain, gremlins, f*#kwits, or what-have-you, they can be the cause of a ton of anxiety, depression, and similar negative feelings.
Let’s just put this out there — brain weasels lie! The negative stories that they tell you are untrue. They are liars and thieves.
Why thieves? Because they will steal your joy and calm at any opportunity.
Why do we have brain weasels?
I think this comes from several different places. Some are outside influences, but the majority are buried deep inside your subconscious.
What’s more, that burial is akin to a mummy’s tomb. There are all kinds of booby-traps between you and the tomb of the negative, false chambers, and miles of zig-zagging corridors and stone to get through.
Such internal sources often come from childhood. Things that you heard your parents say; things you were told by teachers, family, and friends; things you read or heard in a…
