Can I Gather More Spoons and Take More Forks so I Can Do the Things?
Exploring “spoon theory”, “fork theory”, and if we can find and/or create more spoons and forks.
While technically we have no limits — we still have limits.
The limits we have are not about what we can build or create. Truly, we can do virtually anything we set our minds to do.
The limits that do exist, however, are all about how much fuel we have.
Like a car, you and I have a fuel tank. Unlike petroleum, human fuel is completely intangible.
This sort of fuel isn’t about food and rest. This is the ability to deal with the energies of other people, responsibilities, our bodies and any limitations due to illness and/or injury, expectations both internal and external, time management, and the like.
Understanding and working with this presents a lot of challenges. But it can be utterly essential to caring for your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
Two ways to describe some of the aspects of the known limitation of physical and mental/emotional/spiritual health can be summed up via Spoon Theory and Fork Theory.
