Can Today Be the First Day of the Rest of Your Writing Career?

Keep this in mind when you debate if you should start a writing career and creating — or not.

Why not begin the first day of your writing career (or other creative pursuits) today?

I’ve met a lot of would-be writers over the years.

Numerous people who have said in one form or another, wow, I really want to write — or — I have this great idea for a story — or — I’d love to be a writer, but — or similar.

Likewise, I’ve encountered this with other creatives. They have a vision, a dream, some idea or other that they desire to do — but — they haven’t a clue where to start.

As the song Do-Re-Mi from The Sound of Music opens,

“Let’s start at the very beginning — a very good place to start.”

What does that mean? It means the only place to begin is at the beginning.

Everyone starts as a beginner

Every single creative, entrepreneurial, subject matter expert, and all else started as a beginner.

That’s hard to see today. Lots of people appear to be insta-famous because of the visceral immediacy of the internet and social media. I mean, who heard of “influencers” in relation to Tik Tok or Instagram just a few…
