Experiencing Overwhelm? What Can You Do?
Everyone experiences overwhelm along the way. How do you choose to handle it?
Modern society inundates us with information.
Spend any time at all on social media — be it Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or what-have-you — and you will be bombarded with information. Tons and tons of information.
Some of this is good and useful info. Much of it is not useful, while some is even harmful.
Learning things is great. Knowing things is amazing for your life experience. But it doesn’t take long before it can be too much.
When you reach that point you become overwhelmed. Overwhelm can lead to uncertainty, concern, indecision, and other negatives that can cause you to stagnate. Not only don’t they move your life forward — they can become obstacles to controlling your life experience.
There are several ways to handle overwhelm. You can ignore it, run from it, stand against it, or face overwhelm head-on.
To be fair — there are times when each of the above is applicable and useful. But like most things in life, when you take it head-on you find and/or create tools to not just overcome it — but use it to your advantage.
