How Will We Get Through This?
Perseverance. Mindfulness. Focus. Just being.

I don’t think anyone isn’t being impacted by what’s happening. There is a madness in the world that’s impossible to miss.
It cannot be neglected. You can’t just ignore and hope it will go away. In fact, please don’t do that. I believe a great deal of what we are contending with right now is the byproduct of ignoring it.
Lots of things fall under the moniker of “it.”
The uncertainty and fear are like an ice bath. Or a frozen lake we’ve fallen into. It’s uncomfortable, it’s often hard to breathe, and while some people will try to help you out — others are just as likely to push you under.
Either way, to get through this you need to begin with yourself.
Unfortunately, putting yourself first is frowned upon. Immediately, thoughts turn to selfishness. But that’s not so.
Selfishness is not putting yourself first. It’s denying something to others by doing so. It’s sharing a pizza with three friends, and rather than 2 slices each you take 3. Selfishness is distracting someone to jump ahead of them in line. It’s knowingly placing yourself above other people and not caring what consequences — if any — those around you suffer.
I could go on and on with the far-too numerous examples right out in front of us all. But I would rather get to the point.
How will we get through this?
By practicing Perseverance, mindfulness, focus, and just being — we can get through this. Together or separately.
However, allow me to address the elephant in the room.
We WILL get through this
The biggest question on almost everyone’s mind right now is “what if?” There is little to no certainty in anything at all in the world presently. We have never before faced such an incredible divide and disparity as we do right now.
What if Trump wins another term? What if Biden wins? Regarding COVID-19 — what if they can’t produce a vaccine? What if I lose my job because of this? What if the Supreme Court removes more LGBTQ+ protections and overturns Roe v. Wade?
