“I always thought it seemed silly to expect grown children to coverup for their parents’ wrongdoing.”

I am so with you on this.

My mother did a great job of raising my sister and I. I love her for all she did, and the difficulties of being a single parent in the 1980s.

But my mom also messed my head up in numerous ways. I do not blame her, per se — the onus is on ME to identify and fix that now. But parents are imperfect, and excusing their errors allows them to fester.

Sometimes being a bad child is best for YOU — and really, whose life is it anyway?
