I recommend that you start writing your stuff and publishing here. Start on your own page - and also go look for other publications for future publishing. Establish yourself - then see if you can get into a publication.

When you publish - promote your Medium page on all your social media outlets. Tell your friends to come read! Let them know you're here and sharing all kinds of work.
