Is Negativity Easier and More Dominant?
No, but it’s a root element of our fear-based society.
Negativity only seems easier than positivity because you’re inundated by it.
Don’t believe me? Look how many of the news articles you read begin with negative messages or negative clickbait. How many politicians focus more on the negatives of their opponents rather than their own positives? How many people on your social media accounts are complaining about something?
Everywhere you turn you’re bombarded by negative messages. You’re constantly being showered with this is failing or that is bad or a terrible thing you need to know or these people did these awful things and so on.
Further, it has become more normal to criticize than to praise. People readily seek to find fault and place blame and complain about the state of the world. You’re swamped with messages of low frequency, bad feelings, fear, anger, worry, distress, and on and on and on.
Bad news sells. Titillating and sensational stories entice, anger, enrage, and stir people’s negative emotions. You get so caught up in day-to-day minutia that you don’t give it conscious thought until it’s too late, and you’ve taken the negativity in.
