Mindfulness of Your Health, Wellness, and Wellbeing Over the Holidays
This time of year, mindfulness can be a wonderful tool for self-preservation.
For some people, Thanksgiving kicks off a season of festivities, family, fun, and joy.
But for other people, this is the start of the toughest time of the year.
Earlier and earlier every year, you’re bombarded by holiday ads, messages of family togetherness, crazy gifts and services, and more. TV, radio, social media, billboards — it’s virtually inescapable.
It can become quickly overwhelming even if you enjoy all the trappings of the holiday season. And if you’re not into it? Overwhelming would be a nice break.
You might be one of the many people who dread family gatherings, dealing with people you only must because of blood, or confronting memories of lost loved ones. Trust me when I tell you — you’re not alone. Neither are you a humbug, a bad person, or any other negative notion you might feel applies to you.
This is why, for peace of mind, and the best maintenance of your health — physical, mental, emotional, spiritual — wellness, and wellbeing — mindfulness is a useful tool.
