Returning to Normal?

Contemplations on reentry to the world post-pandemic.

The last 16 months have been trying for everyone.

In multiple ways, COVID-19 impacted all our lives. However, its impact isn’t over yet. Some think we’re through the tunnel. But most can see — while the light has gotten brighter and the end of the tunnel nearer — we’re not there, yet.

Because of this duality between those who believe it done and over — and those still being cautious — reentry into the world at large from partial, varying degrees of quarantine and social distance is having different impacts on everyone.

In guarding our physical health — and that of those we care about — there have been different tolls on our mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

If we disregard these — and the impact that the pandemic had on them — they won’t disappear. Thus, reentry to the world as it once was will be fraught with unnecessary difficulties.

But first, it’s important to acknowledge a key, unavoidable fact:
