Returning to “Normal” Might be a Bad Idea

This might be a bit extreme, but there are many reasons to consider this.

Let’s be blunt, shall we? The world before COVID-19 was fucked up in several ways.

The disproportionate dispersal of wealth has been laid out like never before. Big corporations that tend to make billion-dollar profits are struggling while their workforce struggles even more — but their bailout is a bit bigger than yours and mine. The stark lack of leadership on the part of the American political system, thanks to the ludicrous Trump administration, has killed thousands. The economy is frozen, and when things will get back to normal is a total mystery.

Normal, as we have known it, isn’t working. Plain and simple, it’s a mess. The coronavirus forced us to slow way-the-hell down, and shelter-in-place at home, causing pollution to drop noticeably, the overall seismic activity of the earth to lessen, and maybe allow us to get a new perspective on certain “truths” we have come to believe.

For all the parents who have to juggle their jobs AND their children’s education — maybe you will have more respect for teachers? As the lies of our political leaders and business leaders become more apparent, do you see how the system favors a very select few? Maybe those low-wage people who are…
