Show the Earth More Love
Currently, we only have one world. If we do not begin to show her respect, she’s going to make life super difficult for us all.
Let’s be clear about one thing in particular. We are not killing the Earth, per se. It is our actions that are changing the weather and making her less hospitable for us, but we won’t kill her.
No, she’ll kill us, folks.
It is the height of arrogance to believe we can kill this planet. Science knows there have been multiple events on this planet that have caused mass extinctions — but Earth remains. She will endure our abuse, but not without making it impossible for us to remain here.
This is why we cannot ignore pollution, climate change, and other abuses of this planet. We may have tons of resources and clever minds, but to sustain ourselves we need the planet to be healthy. Our lives, and those of our children and our children’s children and onwards depend on what we do now.
IT DOES NOT MATTER if you believe in climate change or not. What matters is that we recognize that poisoning the planet for industry and our temporary, immediate convenience is shortsighted and veritably suicidal.
