Yes, being an empath is a blessing and a curse. For my part, as someone working on constantly evolving, the recognition of this issue - and sharing that I recognize it - is part of me apologizing for the inadvertent slights and triggers unintentonally caused in my attempts to be helpful.

I cannot and will not change who I am - and there are certainly times I won't apologize - because I strongly believe even it it hurt, the other person needed what I gave them. Tough love is still love - and sometimes blunt and direct might hurt, but is still necessary.
