The Fortress of Solitude isn’t Just for Superman

Everyone needs a place to escape to from time to time

Superheroes of comic book legends are not the only ones who need a place to get away. Normal people need places they can escape to as well.

This is not necessarily about taking a vacation and escaping your normal life and surroundings. This is more specifically about having a place in the everyday to which you can escape.

It’s important to note that there is no One True answer to this idea. Also, it doesn’t matter if you are an extrovert, introvert or ambivert. Any way you slice it you likely need a place where you can escape, close out the rest of the world, and get time to be alone.

There are many options for this. What works for one, though, might have a different effect on another. But no matter who you are or what you are doing with your life, finding a place of solace and solitude is not an unusual or unreasonable request and desire.

Places for a brief escape

For some, this is only a matter of 2–10 minutes here and there throughout the day. The fortress of solitude in this situation is a place readily at-hand that can be accessed without a long trip or taking out a lot of time.
