This is an interesting perspective you present.
My view of the practice of mindfulness isn't locked in just thought and the mind - it's being aware of the mind, heart, and soul by conscious awareness of thoughts, feelings, actions, AND intentions. That, in turn, connects you to your inner being.
Perhaps it's similar to your mindlessness concept here. I appreciate the food for thought and this well-written notion you present here.
