’Tis the Season for Self-Care, Too
Self-care for your health, wellness, and wellbeing is important during the holiday season.
The spirit of the season and the idea of joy, kindness, and caring are worthwhile. But when you get caught up in crowds of shoppers, unmeetable expectations, family obligations, and the like — self-care tends to take a backseat.
That can hurt your health, wellness, and wellbeing. Mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, or all the above — your health suffers without self-care.
This is not about buying expensive tchotchkes for yourself, spa treatments, or anything else of this nature. It’s about taking time for yourself and your health, wellness, and wellbeing,
What does that look like? It’s being choosy about when you go to crowded stores, phone calls you time so they aren’t impeding on other matters, and possibly even saying no and setting boundaries with those you love.
Self-care is too important to neglect — even during the holiday season. Yet you might receive a whole lot of guilt if you choose yourself over anyone else. Even for a breather or 2 minutes of meditation.
