What Are Thinky-Thoughts and Why Are They So Disruptive?
These are matters of the subconscious and conscious mind you can control.
Brain weasels, squirrels in the brain, and the like are chittering voices that will tell you how much you suck, what you’re not good at, and all sorts of similar things that aren’t true. They usually are the spawn of your comfort-desiring ego and often reflect the voices of sometimes well-intentioned friends and loved ones.
Quick note: Ego, as I define it, is a construct made from a previous connection of your conscious awareness/conscious mind and your subconscious that you project outwards and reflect inwards.
These rodent thoughts most often chitter, squeak, and cause second-guessing, self-esteem issues, and a sense of unworthiness. They’re obnoxious, annoying, and unkind.
They’re also untrue. That’s because they’re a manifestation of your doubts, uncertainties, and concerns. The intent behind them is to keep you safe and prevent you from leaving a perceived comfort zone. Even when it’s not genuine comfort, but perceived safety/stability and a known quantity.
Thinky-thoughts are similar to brain weasels and squirrels in the brain — but are not products of the ego. Instead, they’re demons of your subconscious mind made…
