While there are still religious fanatics and others who think that homosexuality is a conscious choice inspired by the Devil or some other form of evil, the vast majority of people understand that it’s a matter of biological wiring.

What does that mean? Some people are biologically attracted to the same sex rather than the opposite sex. Given that sex acts are not purely meant for procreation, this seems pretty logical to me.

And let’s face it — if sex were strictly about procreation, then it probably wouldn’t be so pleasurable.

Anyhow, this is wiring. Or if you want a more modern take, this is a matter of your operating system. Like the difference between Windows, OS X, and Linux, this is an internal working of the software.

I am not going to even remotely try to associate heterosexuality, bisexuality, asexuality, homosexuality, or any other form with a given computer operating system. If that floats your boat, have at it. But the point is that this is not some choice you make, it’s part of who you are.

Recognizing and accepting this truth and how it applies to you — and only you — goes a long way toward better health…
