Where’s the Line Between Insanity and Calling it Quits?

The line between insanity and calling it quits is usually blurry.

Though frequently misattributed to Albert Einstein, this quote resonates with me,

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

For many people, this concept is something they simply ignore. And so, they go on, and on, and on, and on — repeating the same process over, and over, again.

Maybe this time it’ll work.

When you do the same thing again, and again, and again — and get the same result every time — when do you realize you’ve reached that line and call it quits?

Whether you give it attention or not — you’ve done this. Everyone has.

You kept asking the same person out — expecting not to get rejected this time. Again, you tried the same way to solve that Rubik’s Cube you tried before — and it didn’t work. You started that diet program — the same one you tried two years ago — and found it unsustainable again.
