Why Does Planning Amount to Nothing Without Action?
Sometimes I am far better at the planning than I am at the actual doing.
The thing about plans is that they are nothing but words. Without action, they are nothing but ideas. I can plan until I’m blue in the face, but unless I take action, I have nothing but ideas here.

This is why I began to take New Year’s Actions, rather than resolutions. That led to my habit of blogging, first once a week, then twice a week, and now four days a week. Action is the only way to change and create new habits.
In 2016, I had started up with a professional life coach. My coach provided me with someone to check in with, as well as some much-needed direction and advice. Even back then, we had discussed an action I could take to promote my writing and increase sales. That would be presentations.
The idea had been to go to local small bookstores, libraries, and maybe even coffee shops and bring a bunch of books to sell. I’d set up an opportunity to talk about the craft, my journey, fiction and nonfiction, read some of my work, then sign and sell books. This would be a stepping stone to get me out there, get my name and my works out there, and start building things…
