Why Is My Meat Suit Fitting Me So Poorly?
How do you tailor your meat suit (body) to fit you better?
To be fair, I have abused my body quite a bit.
For most of my life, I have been a greater or lesser degree overweight. Over the years, I’ve broken several bones — all on my right side, interestingly enough — and done damage to various joints, nerves, and muscle groups.
Let me clarify — I neither rue nor lament that these things have happened. They’re the result of living life. For example, I cracked my right knee downhill skiing, broke my right thumb fencing, and I tore the meniscus in my left knee either on the treadmill exercising or while fencing.
I have some really impressive scars. And while many of these things have sucked in their own way, they’re all part of a life lived, and experiences had.
All lives have a beginning, a middle, and an end. The middle is what we all experience along the way.
I’m paraphrasing someone — can’t recall if it’s a friend or someone famous — who said something along the lines of the following:
You can reach the end of life pristine and unblemished; or you can drift in sideways, broken and used up, a cocktail in hand while crying out, “Woo-hoo! What a ride it’s been!”
