No, I am not asking this question because I’m presently facing my imminent mortality. I’m asking because all too often it’s not given proper respect.

Nobody knows how long you get in this present life and the body you live it in. There often seems no rhyme or reason, and there are far too many examples of life being horrifically unfair.

But the truth is that you and your life matter. You’re a miracle of science and metaphysics. And there is only 1 you living your life.

Does that life impassion you?

Our society is full to overflowing with false narratives driven by consumerism, greed, trying to impress others, and putting the self utterly last — often to your detriment. Ideas of selfishness are so broad and pervasive that to avoid being seen that way, you might utterly neglect yourself for the care of others.

Before you know it — life is a slog, depression and anxiety dominate your reason, and inevitably your health, wellness, and wellbeing suffer.

The truth is that you always have a choice. It might appear hard, challenging, and even almost…
