You are absolutely right about this. We NEED a UBI (as well as a much more affordable and available Universal Healthcare of some sort).

The two biggest obstacles to this are, first, that most people do not understand what fiat money is. I think a lot of people still think money is based on the gold standard or something similar. But it’s not. It’s all made up, valued, and moved by the government. So it’s not lacking but readily available.

Which leads to the second obstacle. The ongoing practice of trick-down economics. This is why big businesses are always bailed out — because of the disproved belief that the big guys will trickle-down money to the rest of us. But it’s a lie. It’s why the ultra-rich have ludicrous wealth and the middle class is being eliminated.

When more people come to see and recognize these two issues we might just get forward movement.

I’m an optimist, so I believe its not impossible and people might wake up.
