You’re Not Lying to Yourself

Conscious reality creation can feel this way — but you are NOT lying to yourself.

My inner critic tends to be a real asshole.

He’s not loud — if he was loud, he’d be easier to disregard. He’s subtle. My inner critic tends to speak in a whisper, and reminds me of my imperfections, shortcomings, mistakes, fuck ups, and everything else I’ve done badly, poorly, wrong, or otherwise negatively.

For example, my inner critic loves to point out how much I have disappointed people throughout my life. How many times I have lost weight only to put it back on and add another 20lbs to it. All the jobs I lost or screwed up. And how, presently, I’m lying to myself when it comes to conscious reality creation, mindfulness, and positivity.

My past has passed. I can neither undo it, change it, nor relive it. Nor, frankly, would I want to. Who I was just 5 years ago isn’t who I am now. Certainly, who I was 10, 20, and even 30 years ago is almost alien to who I am today.

Conscious reality creation often requires a combination of mindfulness and belief in the not-yet present. You must see the thing you desire to have or achieve as being real, here and now and accomplished.
